The 2012 Building Project is a New Heating & Cooling System for the Theatre !
Cost $ 66,940.
The State Theatre of Boyertown has been under new ownership since October of 2008.
Upon obtaining the theater,
many structural and operational needs were realized. Grants and funding
are often used for this purpose, but typically are
only awarded to non-profit organizations.
The State Theatre does not fall into that category. Therefore, a program has been orchestrated entitled
"Save the State Theatre". "Save the State Theatre" is designed to create projects that enable the
theater
to raise funds to be specifically used towards restoration and revitalization.
Our Mission Statement:
Save the State Theatre is an organization of volunteers committed to preserving and revitalizing
the historic State Theatre of Boyertown for theatre, music and motion picture presentation.
Our goals:
Save the State Theatre's mission incorporates two primary goals:
- To preserve the historic State Theatre building and its integrity.
- To revitalize and restore the interior, the exterior, the structural, and operational components of
the existing theatre.
Upon achieving the above goals, The State Theatre will then be able to attain its ultimate goal:
To provide enriching cultural experiences for the greater Boyertown area by revitalizing a historic theatre to an adequate and pleasing performing arts venue for theatre, music and motion picture presentation.
Currently, the theater's greatest need is a new heating and air conditioning system. The current heating system is approximately 60 years old and extremely inefficient and costly to run, the air conditioning system is no longer functional, and the electrical system is inadequate and outdated.
